The Kentucky Wildcats faced another slow start Tuesday evening at Missouri.
They went into halftime with a lead of just 31-30 that had Mizzou fans chanting “Cal you suck” as the coach headed into the locker room. The second half got worse before it got better after De’Aaron Fox went down with an apparent leg injury. The star point guard returned, however, to aid Bam in pulling away from the Tigers for a 72-62 win.
Adebayo recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Fox & Malik Monk combined to shoot just 8-22 for 24 points but came up clutch late to help close out the game.
Here is the final box score:
And here are the highlights:
Kentucky has now won five straight games, including three on the road, to improve to 23-5 on the year. They’ll likely face one of their biggest challenges yet this weekend, however, as Florida travels to Rupp Arena for a SEC rival showdown on Saturday afternoon.
Florida won the first meeting in Gainesville by blowout, 88-66. With three days to prepare, Calipari will look to have his troops primed for the matchup. Tip off is set for 2 P.M. and will be televised on CBS.
