The Kentucky Wildcats will host the Tennessee Volunteers in a Valentines Day showdown between two programs in which there will be no love lost.
The matchup is the second between the two teams, with the Volunteers taking the first matchup in a surprising 82-80 victory over the Wildcats back on January 24 in Knoxville.
The Wildcats will surely be looking to avenge that loss at Rupp Arena when the Vols come into town after losing two of their last three, the latest a 76-75 heartbreaking loss at home to Georgia in which Tennessee led by as many as 14 in the second half.
Once considered a bubble team after reeling off four consecutive victories, the Vols recent stretch of games has left them sitting at 14-11 and hopes of an NCAA tournament automatic bid are growing dim.
Kentucky is coming off of a 67-58 road win at Alabama and will look to continue their winning ways and get back into the thick of the national championship race. A win will also be crucial for Kentucky's chances to win the SEC regular season championship, as they sit in a tie at the top of the conference at 10-2 with Florida and South Carolina.
The Wildcats will look to reign in Volunteers guard Robert Hubbs III. Hubbs went off for 25 points and 7 rebounds in the teams' last meeting and was crucial for the Volunteers' victory.
The Wildcats will also need to hold in check forwards Admiral Schofield and Grant Williams, both of whom had big games in the first meeting.
Kentucky should be the favorite in this game, but Tennessee proved to be a tough matchup. This game should be another close one for the Wildcats.
