The Kentucky Wildcats were already shorthanded against Monmouth, and that only got worse with an injury to Quade Green.
Early in the second half, Green was accidentally poked in the eye by a Monmouth player, which forced the freshman guard into the locker room. After being examined by trainers, Green returned to the bench with his eye swollen shut.

Kentucky later announced that Green was out for the remainder of the game. Thankfully, the game was already at hand for the Cats, but this will be something to monitor going into next week’s big matchup with Virginia Tech.
If Green is out, Shai Alexander is the full-time point guard with no real backup other than walk-on Brad Calipari.
