The 2018 College Football Playoff field is set.
Coming into college football’s version of Selection Sunday, we already knew three of the teams that were in the four-team field; the Clemson Tigers, Oklahoma Sooners nad Georgia Bulldogs.
However, the fourth and final team wasn’t known until the selection show early Sunday afternoon. It was down to the Ohio State Buckeyes, Wisconsin Badgers, USC Trojans and Alabama Crimson Tide. While all four teams were more than deserving of making the playoff field, it was Alabama who earned that final spot.
Now, we will see Clemson and Alabama face off for the third-straight year in the playoff, though this time, it comes in the semifinal round.
There will be a lot of debating a to whether Alabama and its weak schedule was worthy of a playoff berth, but anyone who’s consistently watched them and the rest of the nation’s best can tell that the Tide are easily one of the four best teams in America.
