As expected, the Kentucky Wildcats are bound for Nashville in the Music City Bowl. They will play the Northwestern Wildcats from the Big Ten, according to the Tennessean.
The expectation was for Iowa to be the Big Ten foe that UK played in this game, but as it turns out, it will be the Big Ten Wildcats vs the SEC Wildcats in Nashville.
Kentucky is looking for its eighth win of the season to finish above their 7-6 record from last year.
This will actually be one of the better opponents UK could have ended up with in their bowl, at least record-wise. Northwestern enters this game at 9-3 with a signature win over No. 16 Michigan State.
Kentucky is 2-2 in the Music City Bowl. The Wildcats lost to Syracuse in 1999, beat Clemson in 2006, beat Florida State in 2007, and then lost to Clemson in 2009.
The Music City Bowl will take place on Friday, Dec. 29 at 4:30 p.m. ET in Nissan Stadium. Let’s get ready to paint Nashville blue, especially since it is only about a three-hour drive from Lexington to Nashville.
Go Cats!
