It sounds like the end of the Zion Williamson saga is coming soon.
The five-star forward and top-five prospect is still uncommitted heading into the spring signing period. The two schools believed to be in the best shape for him are the Kentucky Wildcats and Clemson Tigers.
In a recent blog post with USA Today Sports, Williamson revealed that a decision should be coming fairly soon...
I honestly feel like I’ll be making a decision soon. I’ve been really thinking here lately about the pros and cons and I just feel like the time is coming.
I won’t say that I feel pressure, but the fact that I have to actually pick one school is starting to be more real in my mind.
I would venture to guess that isn’t great news for UK, being that they have so many players that could leave for the NBA Draft. Most guys in Williamson’s position would want to wait and make sure guys like Hamidou Diallo and Kevin Knox go pro, thus preventing a crowded situation where it’s harder for Zion to be the alpha dog.
Then again, Zion is a generational talent who can be ‘the guy’ at pretty much any college. Let’s hope that’s at UK, as he’d instantly make John Calipari’s program a true title contender next season, if not a favorite.
