There’s a new Coaches Top 25 Poll, and it has the Kentucky Wildcats took a big dip.
After being upset by unranked UCLA, the Cats dropped nine spots to No. 15 in the latest poll. While losing on neutral courts to a team like UCLA shouldn’t lead to a big drop, 15 does feel like where this UK team should be right now. They have a very high ceiling, but it’s clear they’ve still got a long road to travel before getting there.
UK’s nine-spot drop was actually not the biggest this week. That distinction goes to North Carolina, who dropped 10 spots following their home loss to Wofford. Somehow, they’re still ahead of UK at 14.
Looking ahead, UK is currently slated to have five more games this season against ranked teams, including four SEC games against Tennessee (20) and Texas A&M (6). They’ve also got a road matchup with No. 7 West Virginia in the Big 12-SEC Challenge.
Here’s the latest Coaches Poll:
11. Kansas Jayhawks
12. Oklahoma Sooners
15. Kentucky Wildcats
17. Baylor Bears
18. Arizona Wildcats
19. Gonzaga Bulldogs
