The Kentucky Wildcats are off to a fast start in the early signing period.
Almost as soon as the day began, UK announced two of its biggest signings in Marquan McCall and Darian Kinnard, both of whom are four-star recruits in at least one recruiting service.
Kinnard is arguably the biggest get for UK in the Class of 2018. He’s an Army All-American and a four-star recruit in all of the major rankings. He’s set to play along the offensive line in college, likely at tackle. His highest ranking is 101st overall by 247 Sports.
The 6-7, 330-pound Kinnard holds offers from Penn State, Pitt, UCLA, West Virginia, Maryland, Minnesota and Missouri among others. He’s also been recruited by Ohio State.
The Cats also scored a letter of intent from McCall, a four-star lineman who could play on either side of the ball, though he’s listed as a defensive lineman in his UK bio. If he sticks to defense, he’ll likely be a nose tackle. His highest ranking is 134th overall by 247 Sports.
McCall also held offers from Michigan, Maryland, Ole Miss, Penn State Tennessee and Michigan State among others.
Make no mistake about it: These are two of the biggest recruits in the Mark Stoops era, and they’ll provide UK with a major boost in the trenches as early as their freshman seasons.
