Kentucky Wildcats vs Virginia Tech Hokies Game Thread

The Hokies take on the Wildcats at Rupp Arena

NCAA Basketball: Kentucky vs Monmouth-NJ Nicole Sweet-USA TODAY Sports

The Kentucky Wildcats will look to continue their winning ways with a matchup against Virginia Tech in Rupp Arena.

The Hokies come in at 9-1 and have been off to a hot start offensively, leading the nation in points per game at 96.2 points per game, field goal percentage at 55.3 percent, and second in the nation in three-point percentage at 46.8 percent.

Their best win is probably a 103-79 victory over Washington on Nov. 17. That Washington squad is 7-3 with a victory over Kansas, but also just took a 27-point loss to Gonzaga.

Needless to say, the verdict is still out on this Hokies squad, but it is clear that they can put up a lot of points.

The Wildcats will have to be locked in defensively or the Hokies could come in and light up the scoreboard at Rupp Arena and pull off the upset.

Quade Green and Sacha Killeya-Jones are trying to get healthy for the game, and Calipari thinks they will play. Plus some notes about Jarred Vanderbilt from Calipari’s press conference are found here.

Jarred Vanderbilt’s Instagram seems to be hinting toward him returning soon. I have no clue though.

Quade Green could be an x-factor in the game, if he is able to play and be at 100 percent. Here are a few other things to watch for.
