The injury bug has apparently bitten Zion Williamson, as he recently missed his fourth game in a row with an apparent left foot bruise, according to The State in Columbia, South Carolina.
His coach, Lee Sartor, told goupstate.com that Williamson is “day-to-day” and that he is resting and hopes to come back soon. Williamson apparently suffered the injury in November. He did not attend Spartanburg Day’s game on Tuesday night.
There is not yet any word on when Williamson may return. It will be interesting to see how long this injury lingers and what type of effect it has on Williamson. It doesn’t seem like his coaches are trying to rush him back, which will be a good thing for him long-term to let the injury properly heal before getting back on the court.
The team will play in a tournament in Myrtle Beach later this month, so it will be interesting to see if he participates in that.
Williamson is one of UK’s top targets and the Wildcats are hoping to land Williamson’s signature in the fall. Kentucky has presumed to be at the top or near the top of Williamson’s list of schools.
He is also considering Duke, Clemson, Kansas, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
