The hype surrounding Kentucky quarterback commit Terry Wilson makes it seem as though it could be Mark Stoops’ biggest recruiting success at Kentucky.
Stoops may have two Kentucky legends to thank for that.
Former UK quarterbacks Tim Couch and Derrick Ramsey had a huge influence on Wilson and his decision to pick UK, according to Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio.
Was told today that two former QBs at Kentucky, Tim Couch and Derrick Ramsey, both spoke with Terry Touchdown on his visit and made a big impression on him...one source told me both "played a huge role in convincing the kid"

Couch is a former All-American, SEC Player of the Year, Heisman finalist and first-overall draft pick. Ramsey is also a former All-American, and helped lead Kentucky to a 10-1 record and a No. 4 ranking back in 1977. He was drafted in the fifth round of the NFL Draft.
Having two former legends who accomplished great things at Kentucky talk to Wilson was clearly the right idea. I’d have to imagine that the pitch was Wilson’s potential to follow in the footsteps of two former Kentucky greats.
