The Kentucky Wildcats have their first signing of the 2018 recruiting class. It comes in the form of Immanuel Quickley, who signed his national letter of intent on Thursday.
Quickley had previously committed to UK in October over the likes of Kansas, Miami, Maryland and many other college programs. He is currently ranked eight overall in the 2018 class by Scout, while Rivals has him 10th. He’s also ranked 12t by ESPN and 13th by 247 Sports.
Quickley, who hails from John Carroll School in Maryland, is just one of several UK recruits planning to sign this fall, but thus far, he’s the only one that’s already committed to UK.
Immanuel Quickley is regarded as one of the best point guards in the 2018 class. Standing 6-foot-3, Quickley has good size for the position, plus broad shoulders and lengthy arms. Quickley has a quick first step, is a good ball handler and plays at a good pace. Quickley excels in the pick and roll, making reads and decisions with the basketball. Quickley also has impressive vision and passing ability. Defensively, Quickley is pretty good, as he can defend both guard spots, moves well laterally, competes on that end and uses his length to cause issues for the opposition. Although he's improved over the course of his high school career, long-range shooter and shooting off the dribble are areas that Quickley can continue to develop.
