Most have thought Keldon Johnson’s decision will be coming soon, and based off comments Johnson recently made, it sounds like that is true.
Johnson, talking with USA Today’s Jason Jordan, said that he is “95 percent” sure where he is going and would likely make a decision soon.
It is thought that Johnson will sign in the early signing period, which begins on Wednesday, Nov. 8 and goes through Wednesday, Nov. 15.
“I’d say I’m about 95 percent sure I know where I want to go,” said Johnson. “Most likely I’ll get it over with. I just have to talk with my family and make sure they’re OK with it.”
Johnson is down to Kentucky, Texas, and Maryland. Johnson, who is ranked #7 in ESPN’s 2018 rankings, said that playing for a coach who can develop him for the NBA is the biggest determining factor.
“That’s the ultimate goal,” he told USAToday. “I just feel like if I pretty much know where I want to go then what the point in waiting.”
That sounds like really good news for Calipari, who has produced 31 NBA Draft picks during his tenure at Kentucky.
Kentucky leads Johnson’s Crystal Ball with 54 percent. Texas has 31 percent and Maryland has 15 percent.
