The Kentucky Wildcats are back on the rise in the latest top 25 polls.
The new AP Poll has Kentucky checking in at No. 7, up one spot from last week. Their move up came in part thanks to Arizona losing three games last week, dropping those other Wildcats from No. 2 to all the way out of the top 25, an astounding fall that hasn’t happened to this degree since Louisville accomplished it in the 1986-87 season.
Arizona under Sean Miller had been ranked for the past 100 weeks. That streak ends, as they have become 1st team in AP top 25 poll history to go from 2nd to unranked in one week.

Elsewhere in the SEC, the Florida Gators (6) and Texas A&M Aggies (9) also cracked the top 10. This is becoming the best league we’ve seen the SEC be since John Calipari arrived in the 2009 season.
Kentucky’s lone defeat this season was on a neutral floor to the Kansas Jayhawks, who are now No. 2 in the polls. Rounding out the top five were the Duke Blue Devils (1), Michigan State Spartans (3), Villanova Wildcats (4) and Notre Dame Fighting Irish (5).
