The last time a Canadian star made his college destination on live Canadian TV, it worked out of John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats.
Jamal Murray was heavily favored to pick the Oregon Ducks over the Cats but he surprised everyone when he dropped his Canadian flag cape and unveiled a Kentucky tie.
Will there be a similar surprise in store for Big Blue Nation on Friday, November 10th? He will announce live at 6:00 PM on TSN.
While all the love has been going the way of the Duke Blue Devils, Barrett has been exhibiting some curious behavior on twitter:

Is this a sign of things to come or is he trying to throw us all for a loop? As of this moment, the Duke Blue Devils lead for Barrett 82% to Kentucky’s 12%. Kevin Knox looked as if he was a Duke lock back in may and the crystal ball had it sewn up for Coach K.
So why is landing Barrett such a big deal?
Barrett was the number one recruit in the 2019 class until he reclassified in 2018. Coupled with Marvin Bagley reclassifying into 2017, Barrett took the top spot in 2018, and he’s now viewed as the prize of the class.
As you’ll recall, the Canadian superstar ran wild on John Calipari’s U19 USA team in Egypt for 38 points and handed them a loss. Barrett’s Team Canada won the Gold while, Calipari’s Team USA had to settle for the Bronze.
Ever since then, Kentucky fans have kept their eye on Barrett and Calipari put on a full court recruiting press. Barrett made official visits to Kentucky, Duke, Arizona, and Oregon before he made his final cuts on September 30th, which saw him trim his list to Duke, Oregon and Kentucky.
Could he be the next building block in what could be a monster class for Calipari?
