Kentucky football is making an effort to move on from Jarren Williams, as the Cats have offered a scholarship to a second quarterback since Williams’ decommitment: Matthew Baldwin, according to Cats’ Pause.
Baldwin is a Colorado State Rams commit and is currently playing for Lake Travis in Austin, Texas. He has picked up several other offers this month, including offers from Rice, Ohio State and Minnesota.
Yes, Ohio State has offered him, which says a lot more about his potential than the fact he’s committed to Colorado State. He has a total of 14 offers, and has interest from LSU, Ole Miss, Oklahoma state and others.
Baldwin is a three-star recruit in the 247 Sports Composite. As mentioned, he’s the second quarterback to receive an offer this week. The other is Terry Wilson, who’s a former Oregon signee and currently a junior college quarterback.
These have to be Kentucky’s top two choices among remaining quarterbacks, seeing as they’re the first two to be offered. The Cats seem determined to pick up another quarterback commit for 2018 to add to the quarterback battle.
