Enes Kanter fears no man, not even LeBron James.
Then again, this is just a game a basketball, not life and death, something Kanter has been all too familiar with in Turkey, so you’ll have to forgive him for not backing down to King James, or Princess James as Kanter said in a postgame interview following the Knicks’ loss to the Cavaliers on Monday.
During the 104-101 win by Cleveland, James converted an alley-oop with 40.2 seconds left in the first quarter, then bumped into Knicks rookie Frank Ntilikina, who then shoved his forearm back into James.
Kanter then joined the fray as he and James exchanged words before referees separated them ames and Kanter were both assessed a technical foul, but that was only the beginning of their verbal sparring.
After the game, Kanter provided this soundbyte to reporters:
“I don’t care what you call yourself - King, Queen, Princess - we’re gonna fight.”
