The Kentucky Wildcats are already dropping in the top 25 polls.
On Monday, the first regular-season edition of the AP Top 25 Poll was released. Despite winning two games, UK dropped out of the top five after trailing Utah Valley by 12 in a season-opening win and holding off Vermont 73-69 on Sunday.
UK opened the season at No. 4, but everyone knew that was far too high for such a young team, so even though they won two games, people are seeing this is clearly not a top five or probably even a top-10 team right now.
That said, UK can validate it’s top-10 ranking with a win over the No. 4 Kansas Jayhawks on Tuesday night. Rounding out the top five were the Villanova Wildcats, Arizona Wildcats, Michigan State Spartans and Duke Blue Devils.
