As the Kentucky Wildcats ended the game late Saturday night, they put themselves in position for a second straight bowl berth.
By defeating the Missouri Tigers the Cats are now 5-1 on the season and they have an opportune bye week ahead.
Jerry Palm from CBS has Kentucky bowling on December 30th in the Liberty Bowl against the Texas Tech Raiders. A match up against the Big 12 would be something to be excited about, especially the high flying offense of Kliff Kingsbury’s squad. And a trip to Memphis would be a doable road trip for the fans.
Over at ESPN, Kyle Bonagura has the Cats facing off against the Virginia Tech Hokies in the Belk Bowl on December 29th.
David M. Hale has them in the Liberty Bowl against the West Virginia Mountaineers. If I had to pick, I’m going Belk Bowl vs. the Hokies.
Mississippi State in Starkville is what’s next for the Wildcats and what looked like a doubtful win a few weeks ago now looks like it’s winnable. The Bulldogs have been blown out in their last two games but they’re coming off of their own bye week and will face hapless BYU Cougars.
While Kentucky did not crack the coaches poll top 25, they did receive 41 votes. They also got six votes in the new AP poll.
