John Calipari knows how to build a top-ranked recruiting class.
Calipari has done so almost every year he’s been in Lexington, as he’s easily one of the greatest recruiters in the history of college basketball. But what makes Calipari special is he knows how to surround himself with great recruiters, which includes his players.
For many of Calipari’s classes, he’s scored an early commitment from a player that’s helped recruit other great players to Lexington. We saw it last year with Quade Green, and we’re seeing it this year with Immanuel Quickley.
This weekend, Quickely has been working out at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs for the Junior National team minicamp, which includes 53 of the top high schools players in the nation.
Quickley sat down with Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress to discuss his role as a recruiter for UK’s 2018 class, and he’s very optimistic about it.

"I think we'll be good. I've been talking to a couple of them," said Quickley. "I think we should get some commitments before high school basketball season. We should be good."
Big things coming.
