The Kentucky Wildcats may get Jarred Vanderbilt back sooner than expected.
On Thursday, head coach John Calipari spoke with the media to preview his team’s upcoming exhibition games vs Thomas Moore, Morehead State and Centre College.
While Vanderbilt is not playing in any of them, he may be returning to the court much sooner that the original timeline of a January return.
Calipari said that Vanderbilt not only had shed his walking boot, but his MRI came back clean, suggesting there is no damage bad enough to require surgery.
Calipari even said Vanderbilt will now begin testing the foot to see where he’s at as the new season is coming in fast.
It doesn’t sound like Vanderbilt is close to being healthy enough to play in games, but that update from Calipari suggests that the freshman forward should return much sooner than January.
