Mark Stoops has given injury updates on linebacker Jordan Jones and wide receiver Dorian Baker.
Jones is having more tests done on his shoulder, and will hopefully be back soon, while Baker is confirmed as being out for the entire year, Stoops said on his call-in show Monday.
Baker suffered a fracture-dislocation in his left ankle during a preseason scrimmage, and had to have surgery. This will cause Baker to miss his entire senior season, but Stoops said he hopes Baker will use his redshirt and return to Kentucky for a fifth year of eligibility next season.
Stoops is unsure of when Jones’ return will be. The star Kentucky linebacker suffered a shoulder injury during Kentucky’s 27-16 win over Eastern Kentucky. He’s not on the depth chart this week, and hasn’t been since suffering the injury.
There are plenty of Cats banged up right now. Senior wide receiver Charles Walker is in rough shape and Kentucky is uncertain of his status for Saturday against Missouri, Stoops said.
Stoops also said senior quarterback Stephen Johnson is banged up, and would have a lighter practice workload early in the week.
