The Kentucky Wildcats ‘might’ have a new target in the Class of 2018.
On Tuesday, four-star guard Tyler Herro decommitted from this Wisconsin Badgers. Shortly after making the call, 247 Sports’ Evan Flood reported that UK was among the schools expected to show interest:
Schools expected to be involved with Tyler Herro: North Carolina, Kansas, Kentucky, Arizona.

247 recruiting guru Jerry Meyer adds that Herro is hoping to score an offer from Duke or UK.
Seeing the likes of the North Carolina Tar Heels and Kansas Jayhawks involves shows you how much potential Herro has, even though most of the recruiting services aren’t that high on him right now. 247 ranks him 40th overall, while Scout and Rivals have him 38th.
The highest ranking given to Herro, who hails from Whitnall High School in Wisconsin, is from ESPN, who has him ranked 27th overall in addition to being the fourth-best shooting guard in 2018.
For now, the 6-6, 180-pound Herro holds offers from the Florida Gators, Indiana Hoosiers and Arizona Wildcats among others.
If UK is truly interested, it will be interesting to see how John Calipari plays this one out with guards/wings like Darius Garland, Quentin Grimes, Keldon Johnson and R.J. Barrett still on the board.
Watching Herro’s highlights, it’s clear he’s the kind of prospect that can more than hold his own against high-level competition.
