The Kentucky Wildcats were on a bye, but the rest of the college football world was busy producing upsets all over the place.
A plethora of top-25 teams, as well as Tennessee and Louisville, lost this weekend. That puts Kentucky in improved position when it comes to the bowl slate. Here’s where experts currently have the Cats projected in the postseason.
CBS Sports
CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm has Kentucky playing Northwestern in the very familiar Music City Bowl in Nashville, Tennessee. That game would take place on Dec. 29 on ESPN.
ESPN
ESPN’s projections come from Kyle Bonagura and David Hale. Both of them also have Kentucky in the Music City Bowl. Bonagura has them playing Georgia Tech, which would be their second consecutive year playing Georgia Tech in a bowl. Hale has them playing Iowa.
SB Nation
SB Nation’s Jason Kirk has the Cats playing against NC State in the Belk Bowl in Charlotte, North Carolina. UK would obviously have a disadvantage when it comes to proximity in that one. That would take place on Dec. 29 on ESPN.
As for the latest top-25 polls, the Cats just missed out on cracking the latest Coaches Poll, which has UK coming in at 26.
