The Kentucky Wildcats’ hot streak on the recruiting trail has now hit the 2018 class.
Sunday night saw UK land a commitment from defensive back Javaris Rolle, who made his announcement on Twitter:
Rolle is the cousin of former NFL Pro-Bowl safety Antrel Rolle, who is a former player of Mark Stoops from his days at Miami. That connection undoubtedly help Stoops land the talented Florida product.
There isn’t much out there in terms of evaluations on Rolle, but it looks like he’s being recruited as a safety. It’s worth noting that Rivals.com reports it’s unclear if the staff was ready for Rolle to commit. Kentucky did offer him on New Year’s Day, so one would think they would take his commitment.
Rolle would become just the second pledge for UK’s 2018 class, joining three-star quarterback Jarren Williams.
