Carlton Bragg suspended before Kansas faces Kentucky

Kansas will be without one of their key big men against Kentucky.

The Kansas Jayhawks have suspended star forward Carlton Bragg indefinitely, the school announced Thursday. It must be noted that this suspension is not related to the rape investigation going on at the Kansas dorm where basketball players stay,

Head coach Bill Self made sure to note in a press release that "this violation is not connected to the alleged incident in McCarthy Hall on December 17th."

Bragg is a witness in the investigation of an alleged sexual assault involving a 16-year old girl.

The news comes ahead of Saturday’s matchup with the Kentucky Wildcats. The sophomore forward has been a key rotational big for a Jayhawks team that’s been very thin in the frontcourt. Bragg is averaging 6.1 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, but his playing time has dipped recently.

The 6-10, 240-pound big man was previously suspended after being arrested for suspected battery, which turned out to be false, and he was quickly reinstated to the team.
