Kentucky Wildcats projected a 1 or 2 seed in new Bracketology; favored to win it all by ESPN

UK is a 1 or 2-seed in the latest projections, as well as the favorites to win it all in one projection.

The latest bracketology projections are in!

While some have moved the Kentucky Wildcats back up to a No. 1 seed after several straight wins following their loss to the Louisville Cardinals, others are still keeping them on the No. 2 line for now.

Thankfully, ESPN bracket expert Joe Lunardi still has Kentucky as the No. 1 seed in the South Region.

Lunardi also has Louisville in that region as a No. 3 seed, so if this potential projection were to become reality, UK could play the Cards in the Elite Eight.

The other No. 1 seeds in Lunardi’s bracket are Villanova, Kansas and UCLA. What makes this bracket even better is that, if this were in fact the region UK ended up with, ESPN projects UK as the favorite to win it all.

UK probably should be the odd-on favorite to win it all, so seeing ESPN project them as the favorite if this ended up being their region is good to see.

CBS Sports has Kentucky on the No. 2 line in the East Region. Villanova is the No. 1 in that region. Among other notable opponents in CBS’ projected East Region are North Carolina, and West Virginia (of course). CBS’ No. 1 seeds are Kansas, UCLA, Baylor and Villanova.

With Kentucky’s remaining schedule, their lack of competition in the SEC could be a major help. A win against the Kansas Jayhawks would likely cement their No. 1 seed status, and even if they were to lose, they’d have plenty of time to make it up with a big run through conference play.
