The Kentucky Wildcats will have another strong presence in the McDonald’s All-American Game.

On Sunday, the 24 players who made the game for the East and West squads were announced. Among them were UK signees Quade Green, Nick Richards, and P.J. Washington in addition to current UK commit Jarred Vanderbilt.

The one UK signee who just missed the cut was Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who was nominated for the game, but didn’t make the final cut.

Green, a 6-1, 177-pound point guard from Neumann Goretti High School in Philadelphia (PA), is rated by 247 Composite as the 23rd-best prospect and fourth-ranked point guard in the 2017 class. He was the last of four UK signees in the fall period.

Washington, a 6-8, 228-pound forward who hails from Findlay Prep in Henderson (NV), is ranked by 247 Composite as the 14th-best prospect and sixth-ranked power forward in 2017. He was a fall signee.

Richards, a 6-11, 235-pound big man out of St. Patrick High School in Elizabeth (NJ). comes in at 15th overall and the second-best center in 2017 via 247 Composite. He too signed in the fall.

Vanderbilt, a 6-8, 213-pound wing out of Victory Prep in Houston (TX) is rated by 247 Composite as the 19th-best prospect and sixth-ranked small forward in 2017. He committed to UK back in December.

Hamidou Diallo, who enrolled in classes at UK last week, week, would not have been eligible for the McDonald’s Game this year because he was playing this season as a post-graduate player.

The other three class of 2017 prospects with UK scholarship offers that made the game include Mohamed Bamba, Kevin Knox and Trae Young. It looks like UK is out of the running for Young but still in the mix for Knox and Bamba.

All four UK guys will be on the East Team with Knox and Bamba, so that should aide in the recruiting efforts of those two five-star forwards.

This year’s McDAA game will be played March 29 at the United Center in Chicago. The popularity of the game is at an all-time high thanks to the amount of Wildcats it’s had each year, which is as many as most Power 5 conferences have had:
