The recruiting grind never stops for Kentucky’s John Calipari. After locking down a commitment from 5-star guard Hamidou Diallo, Cal is out to see 5-star power forward Mohamed Bamba, as well as 2018 5-star wing Cameron Reddish.

Bamba is one of the elite players in his class. He’s 6-11, 207 lbs, he’s ranked third in his class by 247 Sports, and he won a gold medal with Team USA’s U18 squad back in the summer (UK signees Diallo, Quade Green and P.J. Washington were also on that team). He also averaged a double-double with 13 points and 12.5 rebounds in the Nike EYBL.

Kentucky is in competition with several other schools for Bamba, as he’s still considering Texas, Michigan, Duke, Harvard, UConn and Syracuse. He’s only taken official visits to Texas and Michigan, but he was in Lexington for Big Blue Madness this preseason.

Duke leads Kentucky in the 247 Sports Crystal Ball predictions, 59-41, but Kentucky is gaining ground. This may be in part due to the fact that Green is helping to recruit Bamba, which Green also did with Diallo.

As for Reddish, he’s one of the best 2018 has to offer, and UK is very much in the mix, though Duke is viewed as the early favorite.

The 6-8, 195-pound wing is ranked by 247 Sports, ESPN, and Scout.com as the fourth-best player in 2018. He holds offers from Kentucky, Duke, Arizona, Virginia, Villanova, and Kansas among others.
