By now, you’ve probably heard about Shaquille O’Neal wanting his son, Shareef O’Neal, to strongly consider the Kentucky Wildcats for his college destination.
Well, it sounds like Shaq still wants his son to end up UK. According to KSR, Shaq told a UK fan recently that the NBA Hall of Famer was “working on that” in regards to getting Shareef to UK.
We all know about how much parents can influence a recruit’s decision (see Marques Bolden), so this certainly helps out UK in this recruitment. Shareef has been soaring up the Class of 2018 rankings over the past year, and he’s now up to No. 9 overall at 247.
Shareef also has four 247 Crystal Ball predictions, all of which being UK. Arizona, Baylor, Kansas State, LSU, UCLA, Cal, and Georgetown are among the programs who’ve offered the 6-9, 204-pound forward so far.
UK, Michigan State and Duke are who Shaq has mentioned he’d like to see Shareef go to, but he continues to show slightly more favoritism towards the Wildcats.
