Practice report: Freshmen look strong in preseason practice -
UK is allowed two hours of team skill instruction per week and an additional six hours of conditioning and weight training at this time of year. That's why practice reports are few and far between, but when they do come out, they're typically full of great news about the progress of this special group of Wildcats.

Junior running back Mikel Horton is leaving the UK Football program. Multiple reports surfaced Tuesday night and were later confirmed by a UK Athletics spokesperson.

Florida names Mississippi State's Scott Stricklin as new athletic director -
Stricklin will take over as the Gators' athletic director on Nov. 1. Prior to his time at Mississippi State, Stricklin was the associate AD for media relations at Kentucky from 2003 to 2008 after time as an assistant AD at Tulane (1998) and Baylor (1999-2003).

Kentucky basketball could get 2 PG recruits in 2017 | Lexington Herald-Leader
Kentucky wants to add five-star point guard Trae Young and four-star point guard Tremont Waters to its recruiting class of 2017. Waters visited UK earlier this month and also has visit plans for Georgetown, Indiana and Kansas. Young -- the Wildcats’ top point guard target -- will be at Big Blue Madness and has already visited Oklahoma. Includes notes on Mohamed Bamba, Nick Richards and PJ Washington.
