It won’t be long until the Kentucky Wildcats are back in Rupp Arena for a new season of college basketball.
In the meantime, we’re left with little snippets and previews of the upcoming season, which will also include several upgrades to Rupp Arena. Among the biggest improvements being made prepares for the installation of a new, state-of-the-art, center-hung scoreboard as part of a $15 million technology upgrade of the storied arena.
The new center-hung audio/video scoreboard is being installed and is expected to be completed in time for the 2016-17 UK men’s basketball season. Here is a peak at it being installed:

Other improvements will include replacing the four corner LED screens with HD state of the art screens in a 16 x 9 aspect ratio. This will be completed during December between UK games so fans will experience the upgrades as they occur.
The new LED courtside scorer’s table display will be replaced sometime during the upcoming season.
