NCAA Football: New Mexico State at Kentucky Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning BBN, these are your Thursday Wildcat quickies. We’re now getting a clearer picture of how much Drew Barker’s injury will impact his playing time this season, and it’s unfortunate to hear that he’ll be sidelined for weeks now. At minimum, it’s looking like three to four weeks. Maximum, he’ll miss the rest of the season.

Barker has struggled this season, but he has shown great potential under center at times. We were all thrilled about Barker having the starting spot this spring, but his chance to be the next great hometown star quarterback is going to be put on hold.

Even if the quarterback controversy that has started doesn’t work out in Barker’s favor, we hope to see Barker back in good health by the end of the season and suited up for the Cats.

We’ll miss you, Vin!
