P.J. Washington recaps UK visit, decision timeline

When will P.J. Washington make his decision? He just wrapped up his UK visit, which went very well by all accounts.

The first major recruiting visit weekend just wrapped up for Kentucky Basketball. The big name on campus this weekend was P.J. Washington, who some believe is the likeliest prospect to join the Wildcats in the 2017 class.

Following his visit, Washington spoke with the KSTV crew about his visit, as well as when he’s planning on making his college commitment.

Washington admitted it will probably be November or December before he makes a decision, giving him time to take all of his official visits. He’s getting set to visit North Carolina this coming weekend, then will visit Arizona (Oct. 21) and Texas (Oct. 28).

But where Washington plays at Findlay Prep in Nevada, UNLV is though to be strongly in the running for his services.

The good news for UK is based on Washington’s comments, one would not think a program like UNLV is a serious threat for him.

"A winning program, a coach that can get me better and a great atmosphere,” Washington said of what he’s looking for in the college he goes to.

It’s safe to say UNLV has none of those, and regardless of what they do, I continue to hear UK is in great shape with Washington. I’d put him right behind Trae Young as the likeliest commitments for UK in the 2017 class.
