Brian Bowen reportedly would join Kentucky Wildcats Basketball if they offer

Are the Kentucky Wildcats still an option for Brian Bowen?

The five-star forward in the 2017 class is regarded as one of the top wings in high school hoops, but to this point, UK’s interest in him as, at least publicly, appeared to be very minimal.

Perhaps John Calipari is doing a little more work on Bowen behind the scenes, because it sounds like UK is still very much in the running for Bowen.

According to Brendan Quinn of mlive.com, UK is in great position to land Bowen...if they want to.

There's also the persistent notion that if Kentucky makes Bowen a priority and extends a scholarship offer, he'll hit the road straight for Lexington.

A 6-7, 185-pound wing out of La Porte (IN), Bowen plays high school ball at La Lumiere, along with a host of Division I prospects. Among them is five-star forward Jaren Jackson, who just committed to Michigan State, the school favored to land Bowen.

Well, at least if UK does not come calling. They’ve got guys like Hamidou Diallo, Lonnie Walker, John Petty, P.J. Washington, and Jarred Vanderbilt on their radar. All of those guys can play the wing, which could explain why Bowen has not gotten much interest from UK at this point.

As good as Bowen is, let’s trust Calipari on this one in how he decides which wings he wants to prioritize in this class.
