After a thoroughly frustrating start that included one interception, one fumbled punt return, a few too many holding calls and a partridge in a pear tree, Kentucky came out swinging in the second half and really never let go.
A few fast observations:
- Stephen Johnson gets the game ball. After Drew Barker's early injury, he came out and did a lot of the right things. Is it possible we have a QB controversy three weeks into the season?
- Bennie Snell likes to give people hell. What an incredible game for the true freshman.
- Boom Williams is just amazing.
- CJ Conrad proved once again that Tight Ends? Are a good thing.
Sure, there were frustrating things as well. Lots of holes in the D line, WAY too many holding calls, but at the end of the day? These Cats didn't quit. They fought, and clawed, and EARNED this victory. I don't know about you but I for one can't wait to see how they build on this win, especially as I'll be on vacation in South Carolina next week.
For now, we celebrate!
