The Kentucky Wildcats have scored another football commitment.
On Thursday, three-star defensive back Michael Nesbitt committed to UK. The Class of 2017 recruit announced his decision via Twitter:
Nesbitt, a defensive back out of Boyd Anderson High School in Florida, is rated as a three-star prospect by ESPN, Rivals.com, and 247 Sports. Rivals ranks the 6-0, 185-pounder as the 59th-best corner in 2017.
This is a great pickup for UK based on Nesbitt's current offer sheet. The LSU Tigers, South Carolina Gamecocks, Auburn Tigers. Louisville Cardinals, Arkansas Razorbacks, and Pittsburgh Panthers are among the school's who've offered.
Nesbitt was recruited to UK by new offensive coordinator Eddie Gran. This is just another example of UK's increased effort on recruiting Florida. Mark Stoops did so this offseason by hiring Gran, co-offensive coordinator Darin Hinshaw and wide receivers coach Lamar Thomas.
That opened a bigger pipeline to Florida, which has already led to four pledges from Sunshine State prospects for 2017. Nesbitt joins receiver, Clevan Thomas, athlete Joshua Ali and defensive back Cedrick Dort as Florida pledges for UK.
With the college football season beginning next week, UK now has 13 commitments in a class that's only projected to have 17-19 signings, due to a small senior class leaving limited spots to full with the 2017 class.
