Kentucky Wildcats targets do well in new Scout 2017 basketball recruiting rankings

Mohamed Bamba keeps pushing for the top spot, but he's still No. 2 in the latest Scout.com rankings for 2017.

Joshua S. Kelly-USA TODAY Sports

With the summer recruiting circuit having come to a close, many of the nation's top prospects are now back in school prepping for their senior seasons.

High school and college hoops won't be back for another two months, but in the meantime, the guys at Scout.com have updated their Class of 2017 rankings. One of the biggest movers was center Nick Richards, who checks in at No. 17 and is now a five-star prospect. He's one of, if not the likeliest commitment UK will get in 2017.

But other than Richards, the UK targets didn't move around much. Mohamed Bamba (2), Kevin Knox (7), Hamidou Diallo (10), P.J. Washington (14), Jarred Vanderbilt (15), Trae Young (22), and Quade Green (25) remain in the same range most recruiting rankings have put them to this point.

However, John Petty took a major dip in falling to No. 44. That makes him, for now, the lowest-ranked recruit that UK is favored to get.

Here is the fully-updated Scout.com Top 25:
