Another day, another big-time recruit cutting his list.
That's usually the case once August rolls around as we begin to see what the recruiting landscape looks like. For the Kentucky Wildcats, they've got a host of talented guards/wings they're in contention with, though Gary Trent Jr. isn't viewed as one of them.
With Trent likely being Duke-bound, UK's interest in the five-star shooter has seeming decreased over the summer. However, Trent is still considering UK, at least based on his newest lists of schools in contention, according to ESPN's Paul Biancardi.

247 Sports' No. 7 overall recruit is easily one of the best guards in the 2017 class, not to mention the top shooting guard prospect in most recruiting rankings.
The Apple Valley (MN) product will play his final year of high school ball at Findlay Prep (NV). This comes after Trent averaged 25.9 points per game while leading his team to Minnesota's Class AAAA semifinals last season. He earned fifth-team MaxPreps All-American and first-team MaxPreps Junior All-American honors for his efforts.
It's still very likely that Trent is a package deal with Wendell Carter Jr. to Duke, but at least he's still leaving the door open for UK. Heck, if Carter goes to Harvard like he wants us to think he's really considering, then maybe Trent sours on Duke and likes UK more.
In the end, Trent ending up to Duke is one of the likeliest commitments of any 2017 prospect.
