If Trae Young doesn't pick the Kentucky Wildcats, Quade Green may be their best shot at an elite point guard in 2017.
The five-star prospect out of Philly has been strongly considering UK since scoring an offer from them earlier this year. Even though Duke looks like a significant favorite in his recruitment, don't ever count out John Calipari as long as UK is still breathing.
That's why seeing Green still considering UK is good news. Green announced his new list of nine schools in contention Friday night, and the Cats made the cut.
Green unofficially visited UK back on June 29th before getting his offer the day after. He's regarded by most recruiting services as the fourth-best PG in 2017, trailing Trae Young, Trevon Duval and Collin Sexton.
ESPN ranks Green 22nd overall, while Scout.com has him pegged 20th. A big reason why Duke is in the lead is because they've recruited him as their top PG in 2017, whereas UK is pushing hard for Young to be their lead guard in 2017-18.
But if UK misses on Young, that could change how hard they push for Young, not to mention how better of an opportunity UK suddenly becomes for Green to come in and be the lead guard as a freshman.
Whoever gets Green, they'll be getting a good one, as his latest highlight reels indicate.
