It's time to prepare the tents and put in for your vacation time!

On Thursday, The Kentucky Wildcats announced the dates and times for everything you'll need for BBM 2016, which is Wildcats fans' first chance to get a look at the UK Hoops squad and this year's edition of the Kentucky men's basketball team.

Big Blue Madness 2016 will take place October 14 at 7p.m., and tickets will go on sale on Friday, September 30th at 10 a.m. at the Memorial Coliseum ticket windows on Avenue of Champions. Fans are allowed to start lining up for tickets at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28th.

As has usually been the case, the tickets themselves are free of charge, and the ticket distribution will take place on Friday night both at the Memorial Coliseum ticket windows on Avenue of Champions and online at

The same rules once again apply on getting said tickets. Control cards will be issued to those camped out earlier on Friday, Sept. 30 at 2 p.m. All fans must be present to obtain their control cards and only one control card per person will be accepted at distribution. All people with control cards must be in line by 10 p.m.

UK will provide portable restroom facilities. However, UK says that the use of permanent, wooden-type structures, portable generators, and propane tanks or other open flames used in cooking are prohibited due to safety concerns.

Alcoholic beverages and tobacco products are also prohibited. Oh, and selling sports tickets in excess of face value is illegal in the state of Kentucky.

When do folks line up to start lining up?

Knowing Big Blue Nation, my guess would be "soon."

This is one of the best traditions in all of college basketball, and it is a great way to engage with the university and program. Coach Calipari often brings the team out to meet fans, sign autographs, and even deliver pizza.

This is an annual event for many of the Kentucky faithful. Me? I'll be in my office hitting "refresh" over and over on Whatever your means of acquiring tickets to the kickoff of an exciting season, begin your preparations.
