Bluegrass Boys are in The Basketball Tournament

The team of former Kentucky Wildcats (and one Louisville Cardinal) has been accepted into the field

The Bluegrass Boys have been accepted into The Basketball Tournament to play for the $2 million prize.The tournament is a single-elimination tournament where the winning team will have to win six games to secure the top prize. Sixty teams were chosen to participate.

The team, put together by former Wildcat Mark Krebs, has been placed in the Midwest Region and will play their opening round game July 16 at the Shannon Center at Saint Xavier University in Chicago, Illinois.

The team consists of former Kentucky Wildcats and one former Louisville Cardinal.

Members include Shagari Alleyne, Ramel Bradley, Joe Crawford, Erik Daniels, Kevin Galloway, Perry Stevenson, Marquis Teague, and Chane Behanan.

The team will be coached by Derek Anderson and Marquis Estill.

The Bluegrass Boys will face stiff competition from other entrants to The Basketball Tournament. Many colleges have alumni teams participating such as Syracuse, Michigan State, Kansas State, Gonzaga, Memphis, and others.

Some notable players that will be participating include former NBA players Jason Williams and Mike Bibby.

Other notable players include Kentucky Alumni Ramon Harris (who opted to play with a team affiliated with his D-League team), former Louisville guards Edgar Sosa and Russ Smith, former Indiana forward Christian Watford, former Purdue forward Robbie Hummel, former Maryland point guard Juan Dixon, former Syracuse player Eric Devendorf, and others.
