The last remaining five-star prospect in the 2016 class is now off the board.
According to Scout.com's Evan Daniels, Jarrett Allen has signed his scholarship papers with the Texas Longhorns.

At one time, the Kentucky Wildcats looked like the favorites for Allen, but have shown little to no interest in him after securing commitments from fellow 2016 forwards Sacha Killeya-Jones, Bam Adebayo and Wenyen Gabriel. UK did remain in contact with Allen, but ultimately never made a real push to get him, even after losing out on Marques Bolden.
That allowed the home-state Longhorns to surge into the lead for Allen as Shaka Smart added the talented forward to his second class as the Texas head man. It was odd that Allen waited this long to make a decision that looked like a done deal since early May, but late interest from Kansas helped keep him from making his final decision until now.
