Jamal Murray and Skal Labissiere NBA Draft Days Feature

"I’m a very driven person because of where I came from. I’m always ready to work." - Skal Labissiere

It won't be long until Skal Labissierre and Jamal Murray become the latest Kentucky Wildcats to hear their names called in the NBA draft.

The two highly-touted freshman from the 2015 class came to UK projected to be high picks in this year's draft, but it was Skal expected to go high while Murray went in the 10-15 range. The script was flipped though as Skal struggled to just stay on the court, while Murray become arguably the best shooter in college basketball and shot up the draft boards.

Since declaring for the draft, both Murray and Skal have worked with the Players' Tribune, and Thursday marked the debut of Skal's first episode.

Skal talks about what drove him to play basketball when he was a youngster getting to watch Kobe Bryant in his prime while tearing up the NBA.

"I started watching a lot of basketball — watching Kobe Bryant on TV — and I fell in love with it. Around the age of 13 or 14, that’s when I really started to take it seriously."

As for Murray, he's now into Part II of his draft diary.

Both players talk about their upbringing and going through the draft process as they look to make their NBA dreams a reality. Be sure to give both a watch.
