Anytime Kentucky football can get a national audience, it's a win for Mark Stoops and his program.
When you're a program on the rise, any kind of primetime game is a big win, but it's an even bigger when it comes on a day where there aren't many other college games on. The college football Thursday night opener would be a great platform for UK to be on, but to this point, there's been no talk of that happening for the Wildcats' regular-season opener.
Well, there now appears to be a chance they'll get just that with the home opener against Southern Miss, according to Jason Munz of the Hattiesburg American:
I'm told Southern Miss' football season opener at Kentucky will be moved to Thursday, Sept. 1, for TV. #breaking

Hooooweva, ABC 36's Kennedy Hardman says not so fast:
#BREAKING UK DENIES that the home opener against Southern Miss will be moved to Thursday, Sept. 1st for TV #UKFootball

Sooooo, back to your regular scheduled programming, for now at least.
