It's been a tough week for the Kentucky Wildcats on the football recruiting front, but thanks to a huge weekend in terms of visiting 2017 recruits, it's suddenly just gotten a lot better.
After losing four-star RB Michael Warren and four-star defensive end James Hudson this week, UK needed a bounce back this weekend in the worst way. It became pretty evident that UK was landing a big-time prospect Saturday morning as recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow and defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh hinted at an impending Yahtzee:
I feel a Yahtzee coming....

As it turned out, the commitment came from 2017 defensive lineman Phil Hoskins. a JUCO stud from Highland (KS.) Community College. He commits to UK having held offers from Baylor, Oklahoma State, Mississippi State, Colorado and Syracuse, which shows just how big of a get he is.
As a freshman this past season, Hoskins racked up 25 tackles and four sacks in 10 games. Scout.com currently has Hoskins rated as a three-star defensive end, though ESPN, Rivals.com and 247 Sports have yet to give him an evaluation.
Hoskins made it pretty clear Friday night that he was high on UK and Marrow during his visit.

Patrick Loney also reports that Hoskins is also going to enroll at UK for the 2017 spring semester, meaning he'll get to take part in spring football.
