Nyquist Eyes victory, more football decommits, should Marcus Lee have transferred, softball postpones and more.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The second leg of the Triple Crown will be run today and Derby champion Nyquist is the heavy favorite to win the Preakness.

Nyquist is 3-5 to win and Derby runner-up Exagerrator is 3-1 in 11 horse field. Nyquist has yet to lose a race and if he wins today, has a chance to be a Triple Crown winner, the second in two years after decades without one.

Kentucky Wildcats Football

For the second time this week, Mark Stoops had to deal with a 2017 decommit. First, four-star defensive end James Hudson opened up his recruitment on the eve of a visit to Michigan. Then four-star running bac Michael Warren also opened up his recruitment. This is why it is going to be so difficult for Mark Stoops to build an SEC championship contender at Kentucky. Whenever he and Vince Marrow hone in on a good player and get him to commit early, The offers are bound to start piling up. Winning this season is of the utmost importance.

Former Kentucky wide receiver TV Williams will be transferring to Texas State. Williams never really had the opportunity to showcase his skills on the field with the talented wide receivers in front of him on the roster. Good luck in the future.

Kentucky Wildcats Basketball

Jeff Goodman has long held the belief that Marcus Lee wasn't fitting in at Kentucky and he went onThe Tom Leach Show and stated that the big man should have transferred a year ago. Marcus Lee recently canceled the rest of the NBA workouts that he had scheduled after a disastrous showing at the NBA combine. It is still unclear what Lee will do, but it definitely does seem that returning to Kentucky is not #1 on his list of plans for the future.

The Kentucky vs. Duke recruiting rivalry isn't going anywhereafter the Marques Bolden announcement and it only figures to get even more heated going forward as the two basketball titans have been #1 and #2 in the recruiting rankings for the lat three years.

The softball team's opening tournament game vs. Butler was suspended last night due to weather and will resume this morning at 11:00 AM. The 'Cats were leading 2-0 at the top of the second.

Finally some good news for Matthew Mitchell after weeks of turmoil. 5'7 guard Jaida Roper will join the team as a true freshman for the 2016/2017 season. Roper is a four-star prospect from Tennessee and is an all-state player

Toronto Raptors head coach Dwane Casey is telling us that star player Kyle Lowry didn't quit on his team after walking off of the court Thursday night as the Cleveland Cavaliers were stomping the Raptors. Again. Whether he was going to the bathroom, quit on his team, or needed a moment of meditation, the rest of his team should have followed suit because this series is over.
