We're still a ways away from the 2016-17 college basketball season tipping off, but it's never too early to look at what some of the latest odds to win the title are.
According to KSR's Tyler Thompson, the most recent odds (May 4th) still have the Duke Blue Devils coming in as the favorite, but the Kentucky Wildcats are right behind them:
Duke: 4/1
Kentucky: 5/1
Kansas: 8/1
Michigan State:10/1
North Carolina: 10/1
Indiana: 20/1
Louisville: 20/1
Here are the most recent odds from Bovada, which came on April 3rd and also have UK right behind Duke as the favorite:
Duke: +450
Kentucky: +600
Villanova: +800
Kansas: +1000
Louisville: +1000
Michigan State: +1200
North Carolina: +1200
Indiana: +2000
Oregon: +2000
Virginia: +2000
What will be interesting to see is if Marques Bolden affects the odds for Duke and/or Kentucky based on where he goes. The five-star center is one of the final pieces in the 2016 class, and he's good enough to make a slight dent on the odds.
Other than that, UK and Duke should remain the favorites until at the very least the start of next season, and that may hold up all the way leading up to the 2017 NCAA Tournament as good as both teams project to be.
