Former Kentucky Wildcats star DeAndre Liggins is now a D-League champion.
Liggins and his Sioux Falls Skyforce cruised to a 91-63 win over the Los Angeles D-Fenders in the deciding Game 3 of the NBA D-League’s championship series on Wednesday night.
Liggins, who was named the NBA D-League Defensive Player of the Year back in April, came up big in the title-clinching win as he notched a double-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block. Here are the highlights of Liggins' performance:
Liggins and Sioux Falls finished the regular season with a 40-10 record – the best in the NBA D-League’s 15-year history, though all he cares about is now being a champion.
"It’s everybody’s goal, to get to this point. And we’re here," Liggins said after the win. "I’ve been around a great group of guys all year. I’m kind of sad that this (is) our last game, but I’m happy at the same time."
Congrtioaltions to Liggins on this well-deserved championship.
