Though he didn't play much this past season, Charles Matthews has a bright future with the Kentucky Wildcats.
That is, as long as he can stay healthy and get back on the court soon as he's got to work his tail off this offseason just to see the floor next year with another loaded Wildcat backcourt in place. In the meantime, Matthews is getting some rest after a minor offseason procedure, which he revealed on Instagram:
Since then, a UK spokesman has confirmed that Matthews had a minor procedure done and that he is expected to return in time for summer workouts.
The 6-6, 180-poud freshman guard saw action in all 36 games and made three starts, including the season opener. But with UK loaded in the backcourt, Matthews rarely got to see the floor as the season wore on. He finished the year averaging 1.7 points and 1.6 rebounds per game while shooting 44.2 percent from the floor
